Motorcyclist dies in Laverton North

A man has died following a multi-vehicle collision in Laverton North overnight.

Police said the collision, involving a motorbike, a truck and a Honda CR-V occurred on the Western Ring Road at the Princes Freeway on-ramp, Geelong-bound, about 12.25am.

The male rider of the motorcycle died at the scene.

A male passenger was trapped inside the Honda. He was freed by emergency crews and taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The truck driver, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital to be treated for shock.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have recorded dashcam footage of the incident, to come forward.
