The state government is celebrating the achievements of Victorians within the TAFE and training sector for the 70th annual 2024 Victorian Training Awards.

Nominations for the awards are now open, which honour Victorian apprentices, students, teachers and trainers, employers and training providers across 15 categories.

The awards include the Lynne Kosky Memorial Award for Lifetime Achievement, this was awarded to the late Professor Peter Noonan last year to honour his role in shaping Australia’s tertiary education system policy.

Training organisations Melbourne Polytechnic and TAFE Gippsland were also among the 2023 winners, alongside businesses Jayco Australia, New Plumbing Solutions and Beaufort & Skipton Health Service.

The 2024 winners will be announced at the Victorian Training Awards gala ceremony in August 2024 and will each be awarded $5,000.

The Victorian Training Awards acknowledges the support of the Awards’ Principal Partner 2022–2024, the Apprenticeship Employment Network (AEN) and the Global Apprenticeship Network (GAN Australia).

Skills and TAFE Minister Gayle Tierney said, “The driving force behind our investment in TAFE and training is to help more Victorians get the skills that they need for the career they want – these awards celebrate just that.”
