Not too bright driver has car impounded

A 22-year-old Altona Meadows driver has lost his car for the next month after police spotted the man speeding in Hoppers Crossing early this morning.

Police tried to pull over the car on Tarneit Road about 1.20am, but the driver turned his lights off and sped off.

The car was sighted again in Werribee about 3.30am and this time police were able to intercept it in Amy Close.

Police have impounded the car for 30 days and the driver is expected to be charged with a range of traffic offences, including conduct endangering life.
