The South Kingsville Community Centre team are excited to welcome members of the community to come see recently completed refurbishments to the centre as part of an open day event.

Supported with a West Gate Neighbourhood Fund grant of close to $500,000 and with a matching commitment from Hobsons Bay council, the works include a refurbishment of the centre’s flooring, new painting and an entirely new air conditioning system.

SKCC manager Sandra Wilkinson said all community members are welcome to come along to the open day on Saturday, October 8 from 9am to 1pm.

“This open day is to celebrate the completion of the renovations made possible by the Westgate Neighbourhood Fund and Hobsons Bay City Council,” she said.

“This day is an excellent opportunity to tour the centre and see how the centre has changed.”

Events and activities available during the event will include face painting, cake decorating and Lego building for kids, as well as crafts, candles and pictures available at market stalls.

Friendly reptiles and magic will also wow the audience throughout the event.
