The nostalgic whimsy of Barry Morgan’s World of Organs will be soon making its way to stages across Melbourne’s western suburbs.

Barry’s roadie and alter ego Stephen ‘Stretch’ Teakle said he and Barry are looking forward to stopping in at Newport after the ‘Barry Blows thru Your Town’ tour is wrapping up following shows at a number of regional towns throughout the state.

Teakle said Barry will be gracing the stage at the Newport Comedy Room at the Newport Bowls Club for a special one-night-only performance on Friday, December 2 from 8pm.

“I’ve been busy loading Barry’s organ into the van,” he said.

“Barry is tickled pink.”

Teakle said the show will involve Barry’s unique style of organ playing ripped right from the 1970s.

“It’s a whirlwind of fun and organ magic,” he said.

“Barry plays it as modern as tomorrow.

“He’s always dressed to the nines.”

Teakle said the show will be fun for the whole family and will hopefully be a tonic for the senses following COVID-19 lockdowns.

“Barry says bring your nannas ’cause nannas never tell,” he said.

“He’s been concerned about the mental health of Australians.”

Teakle said Barry will also be returning to the western suburbs for a special Christmas show at Footscray’s Hotel Westwood on Friday, December 9 from 8pm.

“He’s got all the Christmas tunes,” he said.

“Barry doesn’t have the white beard but he has the white hair from all the Bex powders.”

Teakle said he is also excited for a special one-night-only joint performance with his band Stretch & The Truth and Barry Morgan at The Brunswick Ballroom on Tuesday, December 6.
