The Maidstone Community Centre and Maribyrnong council are inviting members of the local LGBTQIA+ to put their best foot forward on Thursday, May 15.
While IDAHOBIT Day – the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination – is officially held on May 17, a painted runners workshop will be held two days earlier that will allow locals to showcase their identity, creativity and pride.
Open to people within the LGBTIQA+ community aged 12-25, workshop participants will be provided material such as new canvas, black, high-top runners, puffy paints, brushes, spray paint, glitter and coloured laces, to turn a simple pair of runners into a vibrant representation of themselves.
The workshop will be held from 10am to 1pm at the Maidstone Community Centre and costs $20 per person, with bookings essential.
