The City of Maribyrnong is blessed with several historical gems and Seddon is one of the best.

With population growth – and a rapidly changing community – council has the challenge of trying to balance the history of the area that we love with what we want Seddon to look like in the future.

And of course, council wants Seddon locals to help guide this process, as we are the ones who will live with its legacy.

The Visioning Seddon process has begun, with residents and business owners invited to contribute to the future planning of this great suburb.

Log into Council’s Your City Your Voice engagement portal – yourcityyourvoice.com.au/seddon – where you are being asked to consider options such as the character of the area, how you want to move around, how you would like to play or relax and the spaces you might want to see developed.

This first phase of feedback is open until 5pm on Sunday, September 11.

Your feedback will inform the development of the Seddon Neighbourhood Plan, which will guide improvements to publicly accessible places such as streets, squares, parks and open spaces.

It will also consider future uses within the Seddon Neighbourhood Activity Centre, to ensure continued access to local goods, services and employment opportunities that serve the needs of the our community.

This plan, once drafted, will be shared with the community for further comment.

So whether you want to be able to ride your bike safely, shop at a local business or simply enjoy some quality local open space, now is the time to influence Seddon’s future!

As part of this engagement, we are also asking you to share your preference – from six potential locations – for the establishment of a new public toilet block (being delivered under the Maribyrnong Public Toilet Plan).

Council will also be sharing the draft master plan for Harris Reserve at a later phase of this engagement, following up from earlier conversations with the community in the second quarter of 2021, to help develop this document.
