Police arrest five teenagers

Police have arrested a 16-year-old Altona girl after she was allegedly seen driving in a stolen vehicle in Werribee this morning (September 16).

Police have alleged the teenagers were observed driving the stolen vehicle on Heaths Road in Werribee at about 9am.

Police intercepted the car and arrested four people, before a 16-year-old Tarneit boy fled from the vehicle into a nearby shopping centre.

Police cordoned off the area and located the male hiding inside a change room inside a store.

A 17-year-old Tarneit boy, 16-year-old Tarneit boy, 17-year-old Hoppers Crossing girl, 16-year-old Altona girl and a 16-year-old Pakenham girl have been assisting police with their inquiries.

The vehicle was allegedly stolen from a Truganina home on Thursday, September 15 in an aggravated burglary.
