Man stabbed with syringe

Police have released an image of a man wanted for stabbing another man in the leg with a syringe in Footscray on April 1. Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit detectives say the offender was described as Caucasian, aged 40-50, with a skinny build, slicked-back blond hair and was wearing spacer-style earrings and a fedora. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Hoon’s car impounded

A hoon driver had his car impounded in Altona North last Thursday night. Westgate Highway Patrol officers detected the driver of a Holden Commodore as part of an operation targeting high-risk hoon driving in the north-west. The driver, 22, of Hoppers Crossing, was caught in Westgate Drive about 9pm.

His car will be impounded for at least 30 days at a cost of $878.50. He is expected to be charged on summons with improper use of motor vehicle, careless driving, deliberate loss of traction and failing to display P-plates.
