Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two men following two alleged aggravated burglaries in Footscray on Thursday, October 27.
Police said it has been alleged two adjoining apartments on Eleanor Street in Footscray were broken into on Thursday, October 27 about 4am.
Police said investigators were told two vehicles were allegedly stolen, as well as laptops, artwork and jewellery.
Police then located a 59-year-old Footscray man inside one of the alleged stolen vehicles on Old Geelong Road in West Footscray.
Police charged the man with aggravated burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and theft and handling stolen goods, as well as charges in relation to a series of alleged aggravated burglaries in Footscray and Sunshine in September.
Police then located the second allegedly stolen vehicle outside a house on Eleanor Street and arrested and charged a 43-year-old Rockbank man at a house on Eleanor Street with theft of a motor vehicle and theft and handling stolen goods.
Police located the other allegedly stolen items at the premises.
The pair faced Melbourne Magistrates Court.
