Police charge Yarraville boy following aggravated burglary

A 17-year-old Yarraville boy has been charged over an alleged aggravated burglary in Yarraville.

Police said a Mill Avenue home was broken into shortly after midnight on Tuesday, January 17, and a handbag stolen.

A resident of the home attempted to make a citizen’s arrest but the offender escaped the resident’s hold and fled along Wembley Avenue, police said.

Police arrested the teenager at a nearby address and he has been charged with aggravated burglary, theft and theft from a motor vehicle
