Police are searching for a man who robbed an Aldi supermarket in Altona Meadows on Wednesday.
Investigators say a man entered the store at Central Square shopping centre about 10.45am.
He bought an item and as he went to “pay”, reached across and grabbed money from the register.
It is believed the man escaped in a car waiting out the front being driven by a woman.
The man was described as Caucasian, 180 centimetres tall, and was wearing a fluorescent shirt, straw hat, jeans and runners.
A woman posted on social media that the staff member who was robbed was “OK but shaken”.
She said customers were asked to leave their shopping trolleys and leave the store until police arrived.
Aldi has been contacted for comment.
