Police hunt Maribyrnong hit-run driver

Police are hunting for a woman alleged to have driven into a policeman in Maribyrnong on Monday, leaving him seriously injured.

Jade Earl is wanted for questioning in relation to the alleged hit and run at the intersection of Thomas Holmes Drive and Gordon Street about 1.30pm.

The detective sergeant received serious but non-life-threatening injuries during the incident and was treated in hospital but later released.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the 31-year-old Brookfield woman.

Investigators have issued an image of Earl in the hope that someone has information on her current whereabouts.

She is described as South East Asian in appearance, 160cm tall, medium build and has blonde hair.

She was last seen driving a 2009 black Holden Commodore sedan with registration number 1DG7JE.

Anyone who sees Earl is advised not to approach her but urged to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
