Police have released an image of a male wanted over the robbery of a pizza delivery man in Williamstown in January.

Hobsons Bay crime investigation unit detectives say the victim, a 27-year-old Footscray man, was delivering pizzas to a property in Nelson Place about 7.40pm on January 10.

As he got into a lift, he was followed by three males.

One of the males, who was wearing a black and white baseball cap, demanded the man hand over the pizza.

After the victim complied, the male demanded he hand over cash from his bag.

Police said the victim believed the male was carrying a knife and opened his bag.

The male reached into the bag and stole about $200 before the trio exited the lift.

Police said the three males were perceived to be African in appearance.

They have released a photograph of one of the males.

Anyone who recognises him should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
