Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have appealed for public assistance following an aggravated burglary in Yarraville on Thursday, October 27.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said investigators have been told a man fell through the ceiling of a house on Francis Street during an aggravated burglary just after 9am.
“It is understood the two victims, who are aged in their seventies, were asleep in their bed before they heard noises coming from the roof,” the spokesperson said.
“Police have been told the victims believed the sounds were tiles being removed before further sounds were heard in the roof space.
“It wasn’t long before a man fell through the ceiling, apologised to the victims and ran from the scene out the back door.”
Police said neither of the victims were injured during the incident and the man was last seen heading towards Francis Street.
Police said the man has been described as being of medium build, aged in his 30’s, having an olive complexion and was wearing blue pants, a white T-shirt, black beanie and glasses.
