Police seize drugs, taser and cash in Williamstown

Williamstown Victoria Police members have arrested a man and a woman in Williamstown, after searching their car and allegedly locating an array of drugs, a conducted-energy device or taser and a quantity of cash.

Victoria Police spokesperson Sergeant Megan Stefanec said the Williamstown officers pulled over the vehicle driving along The Strand in Williamstown about 4.10am.

“A search of the car located a quantity of cannabis, MDMA, methylamphetamine, a conducted-energy device and approximately $7000 in cash,” the spokesperson said.

Sergeant Stefanec said Victoria Police charged a 43-year-old Hadfield woman with three alleged counts of possessing a drug of dependence, an alleged count of possessing a prohibited weapon and other alleged offences.

“She was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on November 4,” she said.

“A 33-year-old Footscray man was released pending further inquiries.”
