A Footscray pub is ploughing profits from a pork-themed party into a pair of local primary schools.

The Plough Hotel raised $2400 from its recent Melbourne Food and Wine festival event, Pigs, Pots and Pinots.

Chef Scott Thomas cooked a menu of porky goodness using Western Plains pigs matched with pots and pints from West City Brewing and pinot from Shadowfax Wines.

Plough manager Ben Foster said the event was a celebration of the western suburbs.

“We raised $1200 each for Footscray and Footscray West Primary Schools,” he said.

The Plough will host a Good Beer Week event, The Great Curry Beer Match, with local cooks and brewers cooking eight curries with matched beers on Saturday, May 20.
