Frank Vetere is ready for new challenges as he farewells Point Cook P-9 College after a decade at the helm.

Mr Vetere is leaving to lead the development and implementation of the Footscray Learning Precinct – a multi-campus secondary school that will involve merging two schools and building a third campus.

“I joined the Point Cook College community in September 2009 as an assistant principal, developing the year 5-9 program, and in 2015 I was honoured to be selected as the second principal of this great school,” he said.

“I leave this community proud of what we have collectively achieved.

“Point Cook College is a highly reputable place of learning and is regarded locally and internationally for many of its outstanding programs.”

Mr Vetere last week announced his impending departure and said the school was in the process of appointing an interim replacement.

He said he had seen many changes at the school over the years.

“During my time at the college I have been humbled by the courage, determination and growth of students and staff alike,” he said.

“I leave with thousands of fond memories of individual and group achievement and growth.

“Over the past decade I have tried my absolute best to ensure Point Cook College is a safe, inclusive, engaging and great school for our children.

“Our work has focused on developing the whole student with aspirations of students graduating at year 9 ready to take on the rigours of senior secondary education with the prospect of really making a difference.

“I will miss this amazing community, however I look forward to joining my new one in Footscray.”
