Push is on for new footy club

There is exciting news in store for Truganina children who would like their own football club.

A meeting will be held this week to discuss the creation of a Truganina Junior Football Club.

The potential future club would be based at Mainview Boulevard Reserve and link with the existing Truganina Auskick program.

Volunteers would be supported to establish the club and guided through the requirements of developing it, to ultimately enter a team in local competitions.

In a post on its official Facebook page, Truganina Auskick said it hoped to see the club “flourish and grow organically over the next few years and this is only possible with the help of our community members”.

“Everyone is invited to attend the consultation and join in on founding the club for our community.

“If you are a little unsure of what it is all about come along on the night, have a listen to what is said, show your support for Auskick members … and ask any questions that you may have.”

Truganina Auskick, AFL Victoria and Wyndham council are seeking players, parents, families and friends to attend the meeting, on Thursday, October 11 at 6.30pm at Mainview Boulevard Pavilion, Mainview Boulevard, Truganina.

RSVP: tom.delahunty@wyndham.vic.gov.au or on 9742 0763.
