Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV) is calling for feedback from Victorians, including those from Maribyrnong and Hobsons Bay, before its safety survey closes at the end of May.
RACV has released the interim results from its online survey, called My Melbourne Road, which identifies the top roads and intersections Victorians identified as having safety concerns.
RACV Head of Policy, James Williams, said feedback from road users has provided insights on how road safety can be improved.
“As [Victorians] return to commuting following the school and public holidays, it’s timely to jump online and tell the RACV which roads you use have safety concerns,” Mr Williams said.
“Whether you drive, ride, walk or take public transport for your daily commute, My Melbourne Road is your chance to have your say about Melbourne’s transport network.”
“We encourage everyone to get involved and help us identify where we can improve safety… Your feedback really will make a difference.”
Respondents to the survey can provide feedback by dropping a pin and filling out information about how a section of road or intersection can be improved from a safety perspective.
The interactive map also shows participants where serious injuries and deaths occurred on the roads between 2016 and 2019.
When the full survey is released, RACV will provide the top roads and intersections of concern and insights into road safety behaviours that were raised by motorists and other road users.
The top three roads of concern that have been identified so far include: Mount Alexander Road, Princes Highway/ Dandenong Road and Sydney Road.
