Raising awareness and support for homelessness

Newport’s Anthony Clack will be one of hundreds of CEOs, business owners and community and government leaders taking part in the upcoming CEO Sleepout event.

Organised by the St Vincent de Paul Society [Vinnies], the CEO sleepout on Thursday, June 23 will involve participants learning about homelessness in Australia, the work Vinnies does and the important role that business and community can play in reducing homelessness, as well as hearing the stories of people who have experienced homelessness before going to sleep without shelter.

The chief executive of Altona-based business Inver Engineering, Mr Clack said he is looking forward to taking part in the event.

“I’m looking forward to getting involved,” he said.

With an initial goal to raise $5000, Mr Clack’s fundraising total stands at more than $6500 at the time of publication.

“That was a combination of family and friends, as well as customers and suppliers,” he said.

The program will help support Vinnies’ efforts to provide beds and meals to those struggling with homelessness in Melbourne.

Mr Clack he is also looking forward to supporting the Vinnies Soup Van program.
