UPDATE: A West Footscray family has been reunited with their missing therapy dog Sammy.
Sammy went missing from Johnson Reserve, West Footscray, about 6pm on the evening of Friday April 7.
Owner Angela said Sammy is a two-year-old white male cavoodle who has been invaluable in helping deal with anxiety.
“He is my beautiful boy, very friendly, loving, placid, loves people and other animals,” she said.
“He would sleep under our covers at night, he was always on my lap and would follow me everywhere and didn’t like being away from me.”
A $1000 reward was offered for Sammy’s safe return.
Sammy was reunited with his family late on Thursday afternoon.
