The sounds of the Seddon Festival will spill through the streets this Saturday as the popular event celebrates its 20th year.
Charles and Victoria streets will be closed to traffic as a non-stop day of free entertainment, activities and live music unfolds.
Performers will include Chain blues band guitarist Phil Manning, emerging modern country artist Aaron D’Arcy and Mike Rudd, guitarist and vocalist with Spectrum and Ariel.
Superstars of Seddon will take centre stage for the grand finale, featuring all of the above joined by Mark Ferrie of RocKwiz Orkestra and Models fame and a four-piece horn section.
Seddon Community Group’s Stephen Los said the festival offered a true representation of what Melbourne’s inner-west was really about.
“I’ve been lucky enough to grow up in one of the kindest, most inclusive, diverse and eclectic neighbourhoods going around,” he said. “Seddon Festival is an expression of just that.
“The inner-west really is the place to be and I can’t wait to show everyone why I’m so proud of my community.”
With sunny skies predicted, up to 10,000 people are expected to turn out for the event, which will run from 11am until 5pm.
“There’s something for every festival-goer, for the young and not so young,” Mr Los said.
“From market stalls to dancing, arts, crafts, food and wine, the kid zone, and much more – not to mention the crowd favourite, the annual waiters race.”
