Sex crime in Laverton

Police are seeking public assistance to identify a man after a woman was  sexually assaulted in Laverton during June.

On  Wednesday, June 12, around 7pm, a man loitering on the Laverton pedestrian footbridge across the freeway allegedly groped the woman and offered to kiss her, as she walked past him.

The woman screamed, which alerted other pedestrians and scared the alleged offender away.

Police have released a facial composite of a man whom they believe may be able to assist in their inquiries.

He is perceived to be of Asian/Pacific Islander appearance, with a slim build, between 155 to 160 centimetres tall, with short black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a hooded jumper.
