Desperate burglars have broken into a Williamstown North adult store in the early hours of Wednesday.
The thieves smashed their way into Erotique Adult Centre in Kororoit Creek Road at 3.45am.
Senior Detective Constable Rob Luri, of the Altona North crime investigation unit, said about $2000 of items were stolen.
“It appears that offenders have broken into the store and stolen a variety of sex items from the store and then left.
“They just smashed their way in via the glass front panelling.”
He said it did not appear the burglary was linked to other crimes involving the theft of synthetic cannabis.
“We’ve still got to gather evidence as far as the CCTV in the area, but as far as the items stolen it’s just basically general variety sex toys.”
A representative of the store declined to comment.
