West Footscray community members can now connect with their neighbours while going for a stroll through the township.
West Footscray Community House community programs co-ordinator Tania Jorquera said the goal of the Chatty Cafe sessions is to foster healthy relationships between community members.
“West Footscray Neighbourhood House started the Chatty Cafe at the end of last year during lockdown,” she said.
“We started the Chatty Cafe with the aim of giving the community the opportunity to stay connected, so we kicked it off over Zoom and then transitioned to face-to-face weekly sessions.
“Due to some community feedback, we are now making the transition to the Chatty Cafe Walk and Talk to support community members to stay healthy whilst still getting the opportunity for social connections.”
The Chatty Cafe Walk and Talk will be held from 9am to 10am on the first Monday of each month until the end of the year, with each event taking participants down a different route.
