Halloween promises to be a scream in Hobsons Bay as the city holds its first Spooktober Fest. Children can dress in costume and visit Newport for a howling night on October 31. There’ll be games, treats, performers and a performance from Count Von Boogie at the Hobsons Bay libraries event. Suitable for children aged five-12, who must be accompanied by an adult. From 5-6.30pm at Newport Community Hub, 13 Mason Street, Newport. Bookings essential: libraries.hobsonsbay.vic.gov.au Halloween will also come to Yarraville Village with entertainment in the pop-up park, a costume competition, a family movie at the Sun Theatre, and trick-or-treating from 4-6pm.
