Spooky fun at home for Halloween

Kids can enjoy a special Halloween treat from home.

Seaholme Primary School pupil, nine-year-old Maya, guest stars in the popular Oliver and Lucas YouTube channel as part of a special show for October 31.

Oliver, 7, and Lucas, 3, have released several videos and invited Maya to help inspire others to celebrate at home with a Halloween garden party.

Even pet cavoodle, Mr Snickers, features in the videos packed with science experiments, including a spooky dry-ice cauldron, baking soda volcano, Coke and Mentos rockets and slime-making tutorials.

The YouTube channel was created by Genwa Rafeh, a self-described “frustrated mum“ during the Melbourne lockdowns.

“We were at home, we were quite depressed and, I guess, negative,“ she said.

“So, I started doing fun things and then we thought, why not document these fun things.

“It skyrocketed … we had people in South America, in Canada, in the Middle East, in Israel, everywhere we had subscribers. It took off.”
