There’s something sinister brewing at Australia’s first female-owned brewery in Spotswood.

Two Birds Brewing has made a special edition Mick’s Bitter to celebrate the launch of the TV series Wolf Creek.

Named after the show’s sadistic killer, Mick Taylor, the brew is described as capturing the essence of the Australian outback.

Two Birds co-owners, Yarraville’s Jayne Lewis and Danielle Allen, said they were inspired by

Wolf Creek’s strong female heroine.

Mick’s Bitter will be on tap at a Wolf Creek Roadhouse pop-up bar in Federation Square from May 5-8. The brew celebrates the launch of the new six-part Wolf Creek series coming to Stan.

It’s described as an “Australian-style beer made with ale, wheat and Vienna malt to give a light, crisp body for that refreshing hit”.

Ms Allen said the beer captured the unique Aussie outback in a glass.

“The Wolf Creek story has become iconic in a very gruesome kind of way,” she said. “You only need to think about that spine-chilling laugh that John Jarratt [Taylor] has perfected in his character.”

On the pop-up bar’s opening night, from 6pm, fans will be able to meet

Wolf Creek stars including John Jarratt and Lucy Fry. Wolf Creek premiers on Stan on May 12 with all six episodes available at once.
