Stay at home travel

Children at St Mary’s Parish Primary School in Williamstown walked like an Egyptian and stood still like a Queen’s Guard for a mock travel expo.

The year 2 pupils ended the school year by dressing in national costumes and bringing traditional dishes from countries they had researched throughout the term.

Teacher Rebecca Middleton said the children focused on places around the world they would like to visit.

“Eleven overseas destinations from different continents were represented at a travel expo run by the children,” she said.

“Families from St Mary’s were invited to visit the Year 2 World Travel Expo held in the school hall.

“The children were able to inform visitors and other students about information particular to their chosen destination.”
