Storytime at Williamstown Botanic Gardens

Children are being invited to attend a ‘pond life’ storytime in the picturesque surrounds of Williamstown Botanic Gardens.

The event, from 10.30am-11.15am on Friday, January 15, is part of a jam-packed Hobsons Bay council summer holiday program.

A Magical Creatures outdoor storytime will be held at Laverton on January 20.

This 45-minute event starts at 10.30am in the ‘play for life pod’ at St Martin de Porres School at 13-25 Bellin Street, Laverton.

Families can just turn up to both events (no booking required) with a hat, picnic blanket and dancing shoes for stories, songs and games.

As well, Hobsons Bay Libraries is holding holiday events from January 11-22. They feature the Summer Reading Club, wildlife shows, writing workshops for children conducted by Claire Saxby, and a mystery movie.

Movies by the Bay is back from January 8 with a dusk screening of Minions at Altona’s Logan Reserve.

Other movies are Big Hero 6 at the same location on January 15, and Oddball and Avengers Age of Ultron at Williamstown’s Commonwealth Reserve on January 22 and 29 respectively.

For more events and bookings, visit libraries.hobsonsbay.vic.gov.au or call 1300 462542.
