Maribyrnong parents are encouraged to have a look at the long list of fun activities in store as part of this year’s Children’s Week celebrations.

This year’s Children’s Week theme is ‘All children have the right to a standard of living that supports their wellbeing and healthy development’, a theme drawn from Article 27 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Taking place from October 22 to 30, Braybrook Community Hub is hosting a wide range of activities throughout the week including a Junior Bots session on Tuesday, October 25, a knitting Crafternoon session on Wednesday, October 26 and a multicultural playgroup session on Thursday, October 27.

Other activities include Junior Ranger Nesting Box sessions at Cruickshank Park on Saturday, October 22 and at Jacks Wood Reserve on Thursday, October 27 and a loose parts play session at Yarraville Gardens on Sunday, October 23.

Maribyrnong mayor Anthony Tran said Children’s Week is an opportunity for families to enjoy fun, engaging and educational experiences.

“Children’s Week gives us an opportunity to celebrate the joys of childhood, and the wonderful contributions our youngest citizens make to our community,” he said.

“I hope Maribyrnong families enjoy the many local activities that are taking place as part of this national event.”
