Altona Meadows’ Fedah Kaddour is giving up all things sweet and sugary for a good cause next month.

Along with her fellow employees at the all-female Altona Meadows gym Fitness for Her, she is taking part in Muscular Dystrophy NSW’s Sugar Free September challenge to raise money to support people of all ages living with muscular dystrophy.

Mrs Kaddour said she is looking forward to sacrificing sugary food for the cause and incorporating more fresh fruit and vegetables into her diet.

“I’m up for a challenge,” she said.

The Altona Meadows group will be giving up soft drinks and other sweetened drinks, fruit juices, sugars we add to tea/coffee/cereal or use in cooking, desserts, lollies, dressings, sauces, cereal bars and more throughout the month.

The Fitness for Her team are aiming to raise $2000, with the team’s current total at $148 at the time of publication.

Mrs Kaddour is setting her goal at $325 for the month, with her current total at $74 at the time of printing.

Funds raised through the challenge will contribute to Muscular Dystrophy NSW’s support initiatives, including camps, retreats and peer support programs.
