Tuesday is table tennis day at Maidstone Community Centre.
Each Tuesday from 12pm to 1.30pm and then from 1.30pm to 3pm, local residents come to play the hugely popular table-top sport, also known as ping pong, in a fun and informal atmosphere.
Last Tuesday, April 8, was the first table tennis competition for term two, with the competitions held every week until July 1.
Entry is free of charge, but bookings are essential.
Table tennis is one of a range of activities on offer at Maidstone Community Centre, a council run multi-purpose centre that is also a member of Neighbourhood Houses Victoria.
Among them is Mahjong, a tile-based game that like table tennis, is also hugely popular in China.
Mahjong is played every Friday from 9.30am to 12.30pm, while card games are played each Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm and the positive steps walking group is held each Wednesday morning.
Vietnamese playgroup, women only yoga, Tai Chi and line dancing are among the other attractions happening at the centre throughout term two.
