A series of community-focused events, the Summer Sounds give Hobsons Bay locals a chance to unwind and connect with family and friends in the great outdoors.
Children and families can look forward to the Hoop Sparx circus play space, an interactive feature of the event, where attendees can learn circus skills like spinning plates, juggling, and hula hooping, suitable for all ages.
On January 27, at Logan Reserve in Altona, there is a star studded line up of performers.
The event will also showcase Melbourne’s own The Pearly Shells, a renowned jazz, swing, and RnB band.
With more than 15 years in the music scene, The Pearly Shells are celebrated for their vintage style, reminiscent of the Golden Age of jazz greats like Basie, Goodman, and Ellington, as well as Ray Charles.
Adding to the musical diversity, James Henry, a noted singer-songwriter, composer, and sound designer, will also grace the event.
Henry’s recent projects focus on the revitalisation of First Nations languages through song, adding a meaningful cultural dimension to his performances.
On Saturday, February 24 from 2-5pm at Commonwealth Reserve, Williamstown, Yusupha Ngum and his band The Affia Band will round off the summer with an afro odyssey of jazz, blues and funk fusion that leaves audiences elevated and captivated.
