People are being invited to film their reaction to a UFO sighting for a movie being made during Victoria’s COVID-19 lockdowns.

Toxic Alien Zombie Babes from Outer Space’, directed by Footscray’s Gerardo Chierchia, will feature people’s self-shot footage within the film and in the credits.

The brainchild of producer David Black, the film is a tongue-in-cheek sci-fi/horror that pays homage to cult classics such as War of the Worlds, Plan 9 from Outer Space and Attack of the 50 Foot Woman.

Black said people were being invited to film their reaction to a UFO sighting, and a UFO would later be superimposed on the self-shot footage.

“It’s a simple scene: how would you react if you saw a UFO? Do they scream? Do they say, ‘Oh my God?’

“We’re going to select five to go in the film but we’re also going to collect as many as possible afterwards for the credits.

People can upload their footage until the end of September to: facebook.com/groups/UfoScreamScene/
