About 15,000 people turned out to the banks of the Maribyrnong River on Saturday to enjoy a day of musical fun in the sun at St Jerome’s Laneway Festival.
Australian acts Methyl Ethyl, Blank Realm and Japanese Wallpaper received warm early responses while international acts Magical Cloudz, Metz and DIIV sweltered through impressive sets.
Canadian electro-pop wunderkind Grimes (pictured) made the most of her sunset slot, drawing one of the most adoring crowds of the day. Audiences were also treated to electrifying evening performances from the likes of Battles, Beach House, Chvrches and Purity Ring.
