Three teens charged following Maidstone alleged armed robbery

Three teenagers have been charged following an alleged armed robbery in Maidstone on Monday night.

Two teens were arrested in West Footscray yesterday about 10.15am.

A third teen was arrested at a West Footscray residence at 11.50am.

The arrests follow an alleged armed robbery in Maidstone where a taxi driver was allegedly threatened with a knife and assaulted after picking up two teens in Yarraville about 9.30pm on Monday, August 23.

A 16-year-old West Footscray boy is facing 12 charges including armed robbery and robbery.

A 16-year-old Braybrook boy is facing 17 charges including armed robbery, theft from a motor vehicle and deceptions.

A 17-year-old Maidstone boy is facing 11 charges including theft from a motor vehicle and deceptions.

All three were issued with multiple penalty infringement notices for breaching the chief health officer’s directions.

The teens were remanded in custody overnight to appear at a children’s court this morning.
