Train assault investigated

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a sexual assault incident on a Sunbury bound train last year.

It is believed the offender approached the victim on a train travelling between Melbourne and Middle Footscray station about 5.15pm on 15 October.

The offender, described as a man in his late 50s to early 60s, is believed to have then sexually assaulted the victim.

Investigators have released an image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
