Public Order Response Unit officers have appealed for information after three people ran from a crashed stolen car on the West Gate Bridge just after 1am on Saturday, February 4.
Police have said the stolen orange Toyota Corolla was seen driving at speed and weaving in and out of traffic, outbound on the West Gate Bridge.
As the sedan approached the peak of the bridge, witnesses said it appeared to clip another car before it flipped onto its roof and slid across three lanes of traffic.
Passers-by helped the three trapped occupants exit the vehicle before the two females and one male ran from the scene.
The trio was last seen running outbound along the West Gate Bridge towards Williamstown Road.
Officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate the people involved.
Police have appealed for the people who fled the scene to come forward as it is believed they may have been injured in the collision.
The driver of the other car involved was not injured during the incident.
Follow up inquiries have revealed the car was stolen from Brunswick on Friday, February 3.
