Ute crashes into Altona front yard

A ute has crashed through the front fence of an Altona home, skidding to a stop just before the house itself.

Police are investigating after a man driving a Toyota Hilux lost control in Civic Parade, near the T-intersection of Glenwood Avenue, about 9.30pm on Thursday.

Investigators say the ute struck a parked car before continuing through a low brick fence.

Part of the ute remains in the front yard and skid marks can be seen in the grass, stopping just before a window.

Two windows have been broken.

The driver, a 49-year-old man from Williamstown North, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Those inside the home were not injured.
