The Victorian Government will provide funding to creative industries across the state to help drive the sectors recovery.

Minister for Creative Industries Danny Pearson made the announcement at Footscray Community Arts Centre on Friday, and announced that more

than $85 million in funding will be allocated to 113 Victorian creative entities including the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio.

Mr Pearson said that Victoria is home to many organisations that fuel the states creative economy, which not only provide jobs but also deliver a range of creative experiences for Victorians.

“From internationally acclaimed companies to grassroots collectives, social enterprises, fashion labels and festivals, we’re making sure Victoria’s outstanding arts practitioners have the support they need.”

“This is an investment in the future of our creative industries and the thousands of jobs they support that reflects the diversity of Victoria’s talent and our communities.”
