Aspiring soccer stars have been getting a kick out of a free weekly football program in Braybrook.

A-League champions Melbourne Victory have teamed with Victoria Police for the 10-week program at Skinner Reserve.

The soccer skills sessions and matches run from 4.30-6pm Mondays, rounded out with a free barbecue.

Melbourne Victory’s role in helping build bridges between Victoria Police and young people living in the west will be further strengthened as part of the $10 million redevelopment of Footscray Park and Robert Barrett Reserve as the home of the club’s W-League and Academy squads.

Footscray Park will become home to Blue Light Victoria, an organisation dedicated to promoting positive engagement between young people and Victoria Police.
