West Footscray collision turns fatal

A man has died after being hit by a vehicle in West Footscray on Monday morning.

It is believed a vehicle struck a pedestrian on Geelong Street about 8.20am on May 12.

The male pedestrian, a 66-year-old Kinglake man, was taken to hospital with critical injuries but died later that afternoon.

The driver of the vehicle, a 76-year-old Seddon man, stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their inquiries.

The exact cause of the collision is being investigated.
