West Gate Freeway closed for tunnel project works

The West Gate Freeway will be closed in both directions overnight on Friday and a number of ramps around the M80 Interchange also shut as part of West Gate Tunnel Project works.

The freeway will close outbound between Grieve Parade and the M80 interchange from 11.59pm to 7am, and inbound between the M80 interchange and Millers Road from 11pm to 7am.

Several ramps will be closed at the same time, as crews work to safely remove powerline cables which span the freeway.

The Princes Freeway inbound entry ramp to the West Gate Freeway will close from 11pm.

The Princes Freeway inbound exit ramp to Geelong Road will close from 11pm.

The M80 Ring Road (Altona-bound) entry ramp to the West Gate Freeway inbound will close from 10pm.

The Millers Road outbound entry ramp to the West Gate Freeway outbound will close from 9pm.

Drivers headed outbound on the West Gate Freeway can access the Princes Freeway (Geelong-bound) using Grieve Parade and Kororoit Creek Road.

Those travelling outbound to the M80 Ring Road (Greensborough-bound), can detour using Grieve Parade, Geelong Road, Little Boundary Road, Boundary Road and the M80 Ring Road.

Motorists travelling inbound on the Princes Freeway can get back onto the West Gate Freeway via the M80 Ring Road (Greensborough-bound), Boundary Road, Little Boundary Road, Geelong Road and Millers Road.

Drivers on the M80 Ring Road Altona-bound can access the West Gate Freeway using the same route.
