A number of road disruptions due to the West Gate Tunnel Project will impact drivers travelling in the inner west this summer.
From January 11 to January 14, Williamstown Road will be closed 24/7 in both directions under the West Gate Freeway from 9pm.
VicRoads advises that Northbound traffic should detour via West Gate Freeway outbound and to Millers Road and then take either the inbound freeway lanes, Geelong Road or Francis Street.
For Southbound traffic, motorists should detour via Francis Street and Millers Road to access the West Gate Freeway or continue onto Blackshaws Road to reach Newport and Williamstown.
The Williamstown Road inbound exit ramp from the West Gate Freeway will also be closed 24/7 during these dates.
VicRoads said all traffic should exit early at Millers Road, where drivers can then use Millers Road and Francis Street or Geelong Road to reach Yarraville.
Drivers who wish to reach Newport or Williamstown should use Millers Road and Blackshaws Road.
From January 11 until February 28, the West Gate Freeway outbound exit ramp to the M80 Ring Road will be closed around the clock.
Motorists should take the earlier exit at Grieve Parade, advises VicRoads, then use Geelong Road, Little Boundary Road, Boundary Road and onto the M80 Ring Road.
Alternatively drivers can continue onto the Princes Freeway (Geelong-bound), take a U-turn at Kororoit Creek Road and exit onto the M80 Ring Road.
The Williamstown Road inbound entry ramp to the West Gate Freeway will also be closed 24/7 during this period of time.
It is advised motorists should plan ahead and allow for extra travel time, with delays of up to 40 minutes expected.
