Westside Derby Dollz ready to roll for come and try day

Flush with recent success and ready to roll out the welcome mat, the Westside Derby Dollz are calling for adventurous souls to take part in a come-and-try day at RecWest Footscray this Sunday.

The only roller derby league in Melbourne’s west, Westside Derby Dollz invites people of every stripe and fitness level to join in the thrills and spills of the unique sport.

The women’s travel team, Westside Glory, is fresh from a win in the grand final of its division in the Great Southern Slam, an Australian and New Zealand-wide tournament held in Adelaide earlier this month.

The come-and-try roller derby day will also offer the chance to sign up for a 10-week course. Stalwarts will demonstrate their winning moves, before participants have the chance to lace up some skates and roll with the best of Westside Derby Dollz.

The day starts at 9am sharp at RecWest Footscray, Essex Street, West Footscray.

A $25 fee will cover insurance, while skate hire is free. Register by emailing recruitment@westsidederbydollz.org.au
