Wild weather cuts power across the inner-west

Almost 45,000 Jemena customers remain without power due to widespread outages caused by Friday morning’s wild weather, including close to 7000 in Newport and Williamstown and about 8000 around Footscray, Maidstone, Maribyrnong and Braybrook.

“Due to a major incident impacting our network, we’re currently experiencing high call volumes and long delays in our contact centre,” Jemena said in a statement.

“We apologise and are working to restore electricity supply to customers as quickly as possible.”

Affected customers are advised to switch off appliances like computers and televisions.
