Williamstown Hospital will end its $2.2million Heart of Williamstown appeal with a major raffle competition and a summer lunch.

Former Victorian premier and appeal patron Steve Bracks will MC the lunch at the Royal Victorian Motor Yacht Club on February 25.

“The support for the Heart of Williamstown appeal has been outstanding,” he said.

“We are so close to our $2.2million target thanks to the generosity of our local community.

“The raffle and summer lunch will ensure we reach our target and commence work on the highly anticipated upgrade of Williamstown Hospital.

“The summer lunch is a great way to celebrate the conclusion of the appeal, marking a new chapter in the proud history of our local hospital.”

Raffle tickets, numbering just 4000, are on sale now and will be drawn on February 25.

First prize is a $25,000 Nissan Juke ST sedan donated by Werribee Automotive Group, and second prize is a $3000 seven-night Lorne getaway courtesy of Wayne and Sandy Sweeney and Mantra Lorne.

The third-prize winner will add a dozen bottles of premium wine to their collection, with a $600 vintage wine package donated by Treasury Wine Estates.

Raffle tickets at $20 can be bought from Williamstown, Sunshine and Footscray hospitals, Sweeney Estate Agent offices across the west and Williamstown businesses Filigree Jewellers, Jainus, Tulle Fashion and Eye Can C.

Lunch tickets are $110 or $1100 for a table of 10. Proceeds from the raffle and lunch will go towards the appeal.
