People are urged to get behind the EJ Whitten Foundation’s Williamstown Walk for Men’s Health on Sunday.

Jo Davis founded the walk in honour of her late husband, football identity Graeme ‘Creamy’ Davis, who died from bowel liver cancer three years ago, aged 51.

“My husband was an amazing man,” she said. “Graeme was big in the footy fraternity, everyone knew him.

“He was just one of those top blokes.

“For me, he just can’t pass in vain – there has to be something that comes of this, hence the walk was born.

“Men’s health is an issue that really just gets swept under the carpet, so we just want to bring awareness to men and basically get people talking about it, whether it be round the dinner table or over a few beers at a pub,” she said.

“It’s okay for guys to talk about their health issues, whether it be with each other or their partners.”

Registrations for Sunday’s eight-kilometre walk start from 7am.

Funds raised will go to the EJ Whitten Foundation to promote men’s health awareness.
